Bill Johnson - John 3-4 and Mark 5

Bill Johnson

John 3

It's truth is a setting In a ring and the new truth is the diamond

Sowing and reaping. If you live intentionally to live the Kingdom well you will see a harvest. Want a greater harvest? Ask Him for more seed.

Line upon line, precept upon precept. The highest law is of Blessing, not sowing and reaping. He is trying to reveal the nature of His world by using the nature of our world.

1 Now there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews.
2 This man came to Jesus by night and said to him, "Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher come from God, for no one can do these signs that you do unless God is with him." - John 3:1-2

Teaching of the Word is to make room for miracles. God always follows His Word.

Jesus answered him, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God." - John 3:3

Our conversion gives us the capacity to see. The realm of the Spirit is something that you can see because you have been born again.

4 Nicodemus said to him, "How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother's womb and be born?"
5 Jesus answered, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.
6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
7 Do not marvel that I said to you, 'You must be born again.'
8 The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit." - John 3:4-8

Jesus likens the wind to the Spirit. The Spirit is not to be controlled but to move with.

Little girls was frustrated in class taught by her dad and told her mom, I'm confused daddy says we come from monkeys and not from Angels. Mom says, that's true - but he's just talking about his side of the family.

9 Nicodemus said to him, "How can these things be?"
10 Jesus answered him, "Are you the teacher of Israel and yet you do not understand these things?
11 Truly, truly, I say to you, we speak of what we know, and bear witness to what we have seen, but you do not receive our testimony.
12 If I have told you earthly things and you do not believe, how can you believe if I tell you heavenly things?
13 No one has ascended into heaven except he who descended from heaven, the Son of Man. - John 3:9-13

Verse 13 reveals Jesus' breakthrough ministry
Before he died, glorified, ascended, Jesus said this. Paul wrote we are seated with Jesus in the heavenlies. Dual citizenship concept: living on earth but being citizen of heaven.

23 But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him.
24 God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth." - John 4:23-24

Only place in Bible God reveals He is looking for a certain type of worship.
"Truth" means nothing hidden

The person who only wants to stay in the presence but no go out is one-sided. Complete worshipper a have to go out. See Isaiah 6:8:
And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?" Then I said, "Here I am! Send me."

When God reveals truth it is available. For it to be revealed in Signs and Wonders, the weightyness of Gods presence in the person needs to match the miracle.

1 Corinthians 12-14. Don't just believe in our ability to flow in gifts, pursue the presence of His love to carry the weight of the glory required for the gifts.

1 They came to the other side of the sea, to the country of the Gerasenes.
2 And when Jesus had stepped out of the boat, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit.
3 He lived among the tombs. And no one could bind him anymore, not even with a chain,
4 for he had often been bound with shackles and chains, but he wrenched the chains apart, and he broke the shackles in pieces. No one had the strength to subdue him.
5 Night and day among the tombs and on the mountains he was always crying out and cutting himself with stones.
6 And when he saw Jesus from afar, he ran and fell down before him.
7 And crying out with a loud voice, he said, "What have you to do with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I adjure you by God, do not torment me."
8 For he was saying to him, "Come out of the man, you unclean spirit!"
9 And Jesus asked him, "What is your name?" He replied, "My name is Legion, for we are many."
10 And he begged him earnestly not to send them out of the country.
11 Now a great herd of pigs was feeding there on the hillside,
12 and they begged him, saying, "Send us to the pigs; let us enter them."
13 So he gave them permission. And the unclean spirits came out and entered the pigs; and the herd, numbering about two thousand, rushed down the steep bank into the sea and drowned in the sea.
14 The herdsmen fled and told it in the city and in the country. And people came to see what it was that had happened.
15 And they came to Jesus and saw the demon-possessed man, the one who had had the legion, sitting there, clothed and in his right mind, and they were afraid.
16 And those who had seen it described to them what had happened to the demon-possessed man and to the pigs.
17 And they began to beg Jesus to depart from their region.
18 As he was getting into the boat, the man who had been possessed with demons begged him that he might be with him.
19 And he did not permit him but said to him, "Go home to your friends and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you."
20 And he went away and began to proclaim in the Decapolis how much Jesus had done for him, and everyone marveled. - Mark 5:1-20

This one man prepared the way for great revival through the testimony of the works of Jesus.

Bill prays for us Ephesians 1:17
that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him, - Ephesians 1:17
