Was in Estes Park, Colorado where a girl was saved, baptized in Holy Spirit, and wanting to get water baptized. She texted her husband saying look at what's happening because of how you allow me to go travel and speak. 

Bethel is unique because you were a big fish in your home church and here you are a small fish. Give yourself grace, relax and know that God will find you in all of this. Enjoy your time of anonymity and when God calls you to your calling be ready. 

John 10:10 - Engage Your Enemy

TD Jakes says you must understand your enemy for you cannot defeat what you do not understand.  

I grew up with my dad who was a traveling speaker 8 months of the year. Visiting churches she learned 

1) we just don't talk about the devil. When someone manifests an evil spirit, we send them to the back room and that one person is sent to deliver. 

2) every trail and tribulation is the devil. He is so powerful and messing everything up.

What do we do with the devil? We believe there is no fear because perfect love casts out fear.

Today we will learn how to deal with the devil quickly - because little annoying things should be dealt with quickly.

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. - John 10:10 

"Thief" in Greek is clepto - to steal - root word in clepto maniac. He wants to take take take. The enemy is a 24 hour vigilant force who, as long as we are on the earth, he wants to steal.

"To kill" - Greek word thuo (THEO) - to sacrifice. What he can't steal from us, he will eventually convince us to sacrifice. The enemy is not taking much from us, but the church is giving away. 

Partner with the Holy Spirit! You've come to far to not go after it. Bible says in Revelation is that we defeat the enemy

1) with the blood of the lamb

2) partner with our story

Story: 

She was 17. She went to church that night and they picked them up to take them to a party. Music was playing and she felt the presence of God in the car. She felt the HS say Havilah, you are called to more than this. She yells, turn the music down! She then says, "I have a call of God on my life!" She knew it was a turning point. Holy Spirit cheers us on in that moment. She then says, "I'm going to follow God, and you are welcome to follow if you want." Her sister and her were dropped off at home instead of brought to the party. They kneeled down at home and prayed, "Lord, if you can use me, I am available!" She didn't know what to give him because she couldn't read out loud or read her own hand writing. 

16 In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one;

17 and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, - Ephesians 6:16-17

The Written Word of God - LOGOS. 

In verse 17, Paul doesn't use LOGOS, he uses the word RHEMA - a quickened, specific word from the Spirit. Roman soldiers would carry around a sword twice the weight of the dagger used in war. Soldiers were taught to stab 2 inches to kill the enemy. They studied the body to know where humans were vulnerable. They didn't slash and tear up the whole body. Christians need to use their quickened spirit from the spirit to deal with the devil quickly and move on. Jesus is tempted by Satan to prove his son ship by turning a stone into bread. Jesus doesn't fight the enemy by telling him how loved he is as expressed by the Father during transfiguration. Jesus says, "it is written..." He speaks two inches deep. Don't go wandering in the wilderness searching for the Word. Trust the RHEMA word. 

She would hear, "you are in sin. You can't preach" from the Devil and her response is, "no, I am clothed in the righteousness of Christ." 

The devil cannot read your thoughts. The devil is not God. He is a fallen created being with a "God-complex." The only one who is going to deal with the Devils thoughts in your head is you. 

The devil is an opportunist!

"and give no opportunity to the devil." - Ephesians 4:27

Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. - 1 Peter 5:8

But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and for a helmet the hope of salvation. - 1 Thessalonians 5:8

The devil is likened to a lion - lions hunt at night or early morning. If you get a good nights sleep you will be refreshed. "Sleep on it." Great advice for indecision and to push away anger. 

What you sow this year, you will reap later.

Know your abilities - stay in your lane. If you try to drive as fast as others or drive in someone else's lane, you begin to strive and want to perform instead of be you.

Administrative Leadership: Human Government vs Kingdom Government

Administration 

Helps gift is often confused with administration.  (Filing, errands, data entry, etc.)

Administration covers detailed helps work all the way up to ceo or president of a country.

There are a lot of church leaders who don't appreciate admin and Admin gifted people who are in the church not given opportunity for admin. Yet, this gift is in 1 Corinthans 12

Moses - the great transition leader. 

1) LEADING: Exodus of Israelites - (understanding of the Power of God is key to him administrating millions) - he leads 1,000,000 men plus women and children and first he instructs the people to kill sheep and details how to put the blood on the door posts.  The showdowns with Pharoah give Moses the growing faith to lead the millions across the Red Sea into the dessert.

2) BUILDING - MANAGING - building a tabernacle. He is 40 days and nights in the presence of God on how to build a house for God! In the PRESENCE God is empowering Moses by transforming Moses into Gods image. Possibly the most intense experience any man has had ever. Then, on his third trip up the mountain God asks Moses to cut out two tablets (the first two God cut out - this time He asks Moses to do it since he broke it.) Moses asks God to show himself and God said "yes" but only the goodness of my backside. This causes Moses' face to shine. The first person to have the Spirit of God on him is a craftsman names Bezalel to build the temple of God. 

1 The LORD said to Moses,

2 "See, I have called by name Bezalel the son of Uri, son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah,

3 and I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with ability and intelligence, with knowledge and all craftsmanship,

4 to devise artistic designs, to work in gold, silver, and bronze,

5 in cutting stones for setting, and in carving wood, to work in every craft. - Exodus 31:1-5 

Isaiah 9:7

Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end, on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from this time forth and forevermore. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will do this.  - Isaiah 9:7

On Heaven as on Earth - what does government look like in Heaven? This question answers what government on earth should look like. 

Perfection of love, loyalty, honor and absolute security in the purposes/identity we have in the Godhead.

Purpose of govt is a family/society/community

God began to establish heavenly kingdom on earth and created Adam-Eve and Garden if Eden. We were removed from Garden for our protection. God can no longer look at hpHis kids. The rest of the story is "I want my family back!" God sends His Son to do what the Father can't do (have face to face relationship with humans). Jesus goes one step further and fulfills what humans can't do (be a sinless life and full of righteousness sacrificial offering). 

We are now called "ambassadors" - represent government on foreign soil. 

Human Government - Thomas Payne wrote govt is to control wickedness. 

Founding Fathers of US had a Kingdom influence - promoting the dream "life, liberty and pursuit of happiness." 

If the purpose of the govt is a community where we have a shared vision - God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit perpetuating love, honor and security culminating in a marriage relationship (not an election).

Righteousness and Justice misunderstood:

Righteousness - set of rules vs invitation to be like God

Justice - consequences for breaking rules vs everything you need to be righteous

Cross of Jesus is the greatest act justice and injustice ever!

Purpose of a kingdom Justice - restore relationships. Judicial systems need more focus on restoration into society.

When you are justified you have been lined up with the original standard (all to the left, center or right)

Govt we are to steward is a pre-eating of the fruit govt. 

And God has appointed in the church first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healing, helping, administrating, and various kinds of tongues. - 1 Corinthians 12:28

Lord of the Rings 3 - Kings name is Steward. 

Kubernetes - word for administration (steersman or helmsman)

Oikinonia - economy. Oikos (household) + nomus (law and rules).  (Eph 1:10)

Eden -> God

Tabernacle -> Moses builds -> God dwells

Temple -> Solomon builds -> God dwells

Incarnation -> jesus  -> God dwells

Church -> apostles builds -> God dwells

City of God -> Jesus builds -> God dwells

Presence and Power of God to advance the kingdom (bring heaven to earth)

Great Command: Love God and Neighbor.

Word for Presence in Hebrew is Face.

You can only love people as well as you love yourself. 

People with High level administration are "jack of all trades" because they can see the world through many people's eyes.

Michael Brodeur - Promised Land Church (from San Francisco. 7 children,wife Diane)

San Francisco has less Christians per capita than India. "Destiny Finder" book with Destiny labs and www.destinyfinder.com.

5 years ago he moved to Redding and worked part-time with Global Legacy and Jesus Culture. "Revival Culture" co-written by Banning Liebscher. 

1960s his parents move to SF to get away from Christianity and smoked pot and took LSD with parents. He didn't hear the Gospel until he started hitchhiking around world and Jesus Freaks shared the Gospel with them and he debated with them all. A pearl is formed in response to an irritation. Don't be afraid if awkward encounters. Introduce people to Jesus who invites people to a decision.  He gets dropped off in Boonville. Sabina Bell picked him up in 1974 when he was 17 years old who for the next 26 miles shared the Gospel. He went to a rainbow gathering and Native Americans sealed the deal. The first Christian among the tribe had a revelation open vision in a bar of Jesus. Part of lighthouse ministry and after 6 months with Diane they were married. 

After 6 months of marriage Diane had a vision that your calling will be made complete. Soon after they got a call to go to a pastors conference in Santa Cruz. It was prophesied over them that they were called to proclaim the gospel of Christ. Woked with John Wimber and Lonny Frisbee. 

Billion soul harvest. 110 years ago was Azusa street revival. Leaders of Azusa street saw Billion soul harvest 100 years later. Bob jones knew he wouldn't pass away until he saw the Harvest. He passed away and I think we are in the Billion Soul Harvest. 

In Jesus movements hundreds came to the beach to be baptized every weekend. 

Revival without souls is renewal. 

Can we catch the revival? Did churches know how to care for babies? Change diapers (deal with sin) and appoint new leaders.

We are pregnant and it's time to see OBGYN (baby Doctor) (obstetrician- gynecologist)

35 And Jesus went throughout all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every affliction.

36 When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.

37 Then he said to his disciples, "The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few;

38 therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest." - Matthew 9:35-38

Gospel of the Kingdom is a larger message with the culmination being our hearts turning and being born again (salvation). Salvation does not begin when we die and "go to heaven" - it begins when we are born again. The Gospel of Salvation is a jewel that sits in the ring of the Gospel of the Kingdom. 

When Jesus saw the multitudes he was moved with compassion. 36 When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. 

We need to connect our brain 18 inches down past our heart and another 6 inches to our gut. 

Sin is the most expensive thing in the universe. Sins cost Jesus the physical pain of a thorny crown, striped back, pierced hands and side. Sin also cost Jesus break in relationship with God the Father.

Careful not to discount the costly weight of sin. Historians would call this season the world is moving into called "Anti-nomiasm" - where sin isn't spoken about.

In our quest for compassion don't overlook som and compromise the gospel.

8 And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?" Then I said, "Here I am! Send me."

9 And he said, "Go, and say to this people: "'Keep on hearing, but do not understand; keep on seeing, but do not perceive.'  - Isaiah 6:8-9

Pray the Lord of the harvest! 120,000 in LA gathered to pray is a sign God is about to do something. This is when the baby is coming down the birth canal. If you want to hang out with Jesus - go to the harvest. Jesus is the Lord of the Harvest. 

Jesus said, "the spirit of the Lord is upon me" to sit in pews and roll on the floor ... No! 

1b because the LORD has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; 

2 to proclaim the year of the LORD's favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn; 

3 to grant to those who mourn in Zion- to give them a beautiful headdress instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the garment of praise instead of a faint spirit; that they may be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he may be glorified.  - Isaiah 61:1-3

There's only one thing that will happen on earth that will not happen in Heaven: souls being won that do not know Jesus! This needs to go up the flagpole of our hearts. Every soldier has a gun, but there are different guns. Some are more powerful but we need to be ready use them. 

I love the concept of societal transformation without winning souls isn't discipling nations. 

I believe we are using far too few words. I understand St Francis who is often quoted, "preach the Gospel all the time, and when necessary use words." The power of God is needed in our generation - go for something big. Welcome the discomfort of boldness.  

Moravian community in Germany help prayer meetings non-stop for 120 years. They began to go and one island of slaves in the Caribbean could not be penetrated for the owner despised Christians. A group of Moravians devised a plan to pe trade the island by selling themselves as slaves. They used the money to get their and standing at the dock with family crying they said, "For Christ be all the glory and honor!"

City Service Outreach - Testimonies & protocol with children

"The Spirit of the lord is upon me,"

Look at any fear that kept you from outreach... Look at it and say to it: "The Spirit of the lord is upon me!"

The heart of City Service is to create a lifestyle. 

Guest speakers: 

Michael Brodeur - 300-500 people a week coming to faith every week.

Sharice - "Jesus is fun!" Fall in love with Jesus and have fun with Jesus. SF ministry testimony: met a guy named Kristopher - prayed and prophesied over him. A few months later they saw him all beaten up and HS encouraged her that he needs Jesus. A month later she found out he died. We need Holy Spirit to possess us to show the love of Jesus to a dying world.

Lisa Means - children's dept at Bethel (extreme kids). Talk about Jesus in 14 public elementary schools and 15 neighborhoods.

A). In Rother Elementary they did their lesson and during snack time they asked if kids needed prayer and a girl shared her grandma is in the hospital. Next week the girl reported the grandma was released two days later and the girl told grandma it was Jesus who healed. Grandma ends up accepting Jesus. 

B). Told a girl that Jesus loves her and student replies, "I know - Jesus spoke to me last night." Last year you prayed for us to have Jesus in our lives and ever since Jesus has spoken to me every day!

City Project - Keith Alvord. Henderson Open Space just south of Cypress. Overgrown with blackberries and known for transients (homeless). Worked in partnership with rotary club. Thinned trees and removed a lot of fire hazards. City applied for a grant and a review committee came up.  They were blown away by number of hours (20,000 hours). They called Keith Alvord to confirm hours. No city in all of California has as many volunteer hours as Redding! We will give you more than what you are asking for! Redding is becoming known as a community that serves. 

Ethan - he volunteered with "The Bridge" and they saw an older man with a cane coming up. He looked angry and intimidating. He asked him if he needed prayer. He said, "yes! I've felt like a heart attack and was walking over here to see my friends for help." Ethen found out this man was kind and gentle. He rededicated his life and they found out this guy died 5 days later of a heart attack. 

Bridget testimony. Addicted to heroin for 32 years and now on fire for Jesus! She lost 52 pounds and went back to college.

God is such a good good Pappa. His love has wrecked my life. It's so important to be in community. I've been delivered from fear, sexual immorality, addiction. I've been going to Bethel for three years and part of the Boulder Creek community. I now have a full time job, a place to live and my own car. When I laid down my old life, the new man rose. My prayer for where I work is to be His hands and feet. When I see people there's no condemnation. I have God's love for people. All they need is hope - hope will be a tumbleweed blowing through our city.

Lisa Means - Protocol with Children

Be encouraged when you get your assignment - I didn't get my first choice. Now I'm running the department I was assigned to. You may not have a kids-focused city service but kids are everywhere. Our goal is to love the city of Redding and make sure both parents and kids feel safe.

Protocol for Working With Children

1. Don't ever be alone with a child. If the child has to use a bathroom, ask child to grab a friend and then go to bathroom.

2. Don't go into a house alone with a child. Always want to be invited by mom and dad into home.

3. Before kids join you to go do something, ask mom or dad

4. Side hugs, high fives and fist bumps are great. Kids don't sit on laps and no front or prolonged hugs.

Don't be afraid to have contact with them. 

Show interest in them:

1. Remember their name. 

2. Ask them how they are doing and ask how their events in their life went since the last time you saw them.

16 All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness,

17 that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work. - 2 Timothy 3:16-17

P. 68 - distinguishing spirits

Spirits - not evil spirits. You are a spirit.

Jesus grew in favor with God and man. There's different favor to people from God. We are not all equal. Have you ever sat near someone or went to a store and you felt exhausted or even became angry? 

Story: Kris and bill did three deliverances: 1) Kris felt anger and left early 2) Kris laid hands on him and had pornographic thoughts and left early 3) laid hands on him, had suicidal thoughts and asked if he had them too in case his feelings were discerning the evil spirit. 

Lesson learned: if you touch someone or enter a new territory and you feel there problem (it's a spiritual problem).  If you don't feel anything it's just a problem of the flesh for that person. Some people are diagnosed bi-polar who are actually very gifted in discernment. If you walk into a store and you feel heaviness - the employees carry that heaviness. The owners authority influences the employees. 

If you are angry or have self-pity long enough you will attract demons. 

26 Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger,

27 and give no opportunity to the devil. - Ephesians 4:26-27

"You are such a good teacher!" Shouted from audience.

Kris responds, "that's not a prophecy, it's a word of knowledge." :)

God writes history with prophetic purpose:

Children of Israel left Egypt and were baptized (Red Sea) on dry land and when the priests crossed the second river the priests had to wade through water to their chests. On their way to Promised land they had to pass through a city named Adam (leaving old man) and then a city named Sin, then another city named Gilgal where they were circumcised (hearts need to be circumcised). They were led by Joshua into promised land (Joshua is Hebrew name for Jesus which means Salvation). 

"Mind reading" is not only for occultic use. 

But he, knowing their thoughts, said to them, "Every kingdom divided against itself is laid waste, and a divided household falls. - Luke 11:17

Circumstances: 

Sometimes you don't know if you've run into a demon until you are going the same way.

P. 75

19 Do not quench the Spirit.

20 Do not despise prophecies,

21 but test everything; hold fast what is good. - 1 Thessalonians 5:19-21

Kris says there are people in his Facebook page weekly quoting this passage to call Kris a false prophet:

18 I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their brothers. And I will put my words in his mouth, and he shall speak to them all that I command him.

19 And whoever will not listen to my words that he shall speak in my name, I myself will require it of him.

20 But the prophet who presumes to speak a word in my name that I have not commanded him to speak, or who speaks in the name of other gods, that same prophet shall die.' - Deuteronomy 18:18-20

Old Testament vs New Testament. 

Everyone before the cross had dead spirits. Everyone was absent of the Holy Spirit. A few people had the spirit visit them. People did not have the mind of Christ. Everyone who was adulterous or spoke falsely were stoned. Everyone was stoned under the Law pre-Jesus.

Jesus said "I will never leave you or forsake you." This is true only for those post cross.

29 Let two or three prophets speak, and let the others weigh what is said.

30 If a revelation is made to another sitting there, let the first be silent.

31 For you can all prophesy one by one, so that all may learn and all be encouraged,

32 and the spirits of prophets are subject to prophets. - 1 Corinthians 14:29-32

Prophesy is always about the future. How do you judge something that is to come true ten years from now? Judge the source. 

NT prophetic mistakes:

10 While we were staying for many days, a prophet named Agabus came down from Judea.

11 And coming to us, he took Paul's belt and bound his own feet and hands and said, "Thus says the Holy Spirit, 'This is how the Jews at Jerusalem will bind the man who owns this belt and deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.'" - Acts 21:10-11

What really happened:

32 He at once took soldiers and centurions and ran down to them. And when they saw the tribune and the soldiers, they stopped beating Paul.

33 Then the tribune came up and arrested him and ordered him to be bound with two chains. He inquired who he was and what he had done. - Acts 21:32-33

Prophets didn't always get it right and it didn't label them "false prophet."

Develop a refuse (refuge) gate.

A body takes the nutrients releases the toxic or non-applicable "food."

If someone gives you or your friend a bad word ... Flush. Keep your toilet empty.

Keep order in Church

But all things should be done decently and in order. - 1 Corinthians 14:40

But don't create so many rules nothing is going on!

Where there are no oxen, the manger is clean, but abundant crops come by the strength of the ox.  - Proverbs 14:4

Story: Kathy asks Kris to go to Lamaze class. 6 week class where you watch bloody films with no plot. They teach mothers to look at a focal point as husbands remind them to breath. Kathy had a 28 hour labor. Kids come out sideways. Put a snickers bar up as a focal point. About three hours into it she got angry and started calling him names. He got so stressed out he ate the focal point. They went to delivery room and after passing out 6 times and with pale white face from seeing blood the doctor asked him if he wanted to cut the embelicol cord. Kris said, "what do we pay you for?!" All babies are not cute. His child had a blood blister on her head and her face was all squished together. He showed her to his mom and she said, "she looks just like you!" 

Lesson learned: when you birth something it's not clean, plastic wrapped and beautiful (at first). Be prepared for messy, bloody, ugly births.

Guidelines for judging prophetic words

1.   Word must be congruent with Scripture. Extra-biblical prophecies can't go against the core character of God or against the nature of the New Covenant. 

2.   It must bear witness with the spirit of the one who receives it. The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, - Romans 8:16

3.   The fruit of the fruit is that it brings the person closer to God.

"8 Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ 9 and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith- 10 that I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death," - Philippians 3:8-10 

4.    The prophets and leadership should be in agreement about interpretation and application. 

Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they are keeping watch over your souls, as those who will have to give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with groaning, for that would be of no advantage to you. - Hebrews 13:17

Best advice you will get from me all year:

Build relationship with people around you before you need it. The scariest person is one with a huge gift but a very low relational ability (EQ = emotional intelligence). Think of a person that if you did something wrong you would feel anxiety telling them you failed (someone you look up to that you respect). Find someone who has time for you. Meet with them once a month. Who would you allow speak into your life where their opinion weighs more than your passion. Married couples find another couple you look up to and treat them to dinner once a month with the invitation for them to speak into your life.

P. 103 - warnings or judgments

When Agabus prophesied about a famine he tied sin to a judgment. If you attach a warning to a sin it is no longer a warning it is a judgment. If someone smokes and gets lung cancer it is not a judgment it is sowing and reaping. Jesus wants to get between our sowing and reaping. When I ask for forgiveness and repent I've broken the sowing and reaping by the power of Jesus. If you get a venarial disease (vd) you have recovered what you sowed. 

Stay away from warnings. When you are part of a leadership team that trusts you and you've prophesied good words, then step into warnings a little. 

Default: comfort, encourage, exhort 

 

Kris Vallotton - 4 Voices and Languages of God: visions and dreams

Review:

What did you learn about parables? It's the nature of God to hide things (whisper, not to shout). If you have gone a day or season without hearing from God, it doesn't mean he stopped speaking (we just weren't listening). When God is not trying to show off He is still infinitely amazing. 

God is proactive hiding things and asks of us to proactive rim seeking Him. We should wake up and think "The God of hope hid something for me today." 

We do things because they are right not because we feel like it - last night was one of those nights where I didn't feel excited about reading the Word. After the devotions I heard from God and felt such peach and encouragement.

P. 51 - mark 4:14. There's a war to keep you from hearing. I don't want you to have too big of a devil or no devil. Everyone is not going to heaven. The figurative example of hell being like a dump outside of Jerusalem doesn't mean there is no hell. Having no hell is what happens when teachers interpret prophetic words. Jesus said, "if I tell you earthly things and you don't get them, how will you understand heavenly thugs!?" There is a devil who has no power because all power is given to you.

When you prophesy you co-create with God. In the same way Adam named animals in the Garden he co-created with God. God made the animals he formed them out of dirt (not speaking it) leaving room for Adam to create some of its DNA. Why did he kill the prophets in the old testament and not the priests. Some people speak themselves to death. 

I could teach you to prophesy in two hours. But you wouldn't have the core values to create life in people. You don't give s 15 year old a corvette to drive as a starter car.

You need the gift discerning spirits if the devil comes to you as an angel. The Bible in the hands of the devil is not true. The spirit of suicide was used to attack Jesus with the Bible.

The spirit God you are to be developing a relationship with is the Holy Spirit. 

We will teach you to discern the voices but living in community is key. When the devil comes to you he doesn't feel like the devil. 

Story: 2003, bethel had 5 prophets come over 12 months. Every one prophesied rival will come from the youth. I have a passion for my grandkids to outgrow me. The 4th person prophesied on a Friday night and I fell to the floor and I wept with grief. Maybe I was going through "manopause" [play off the word menopause] - I ran out of the building and drove home. He asked God what was gong on and God said my prophets are speaking from the second heaven. What does this mean?! Revival is not coming from the youth. Acts 2:17 says, "'And in the last days it shall be, God declares, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams;" Omission is powerful. If a father says you are beautiful to just the second daughter how does the first daughter feel? What generation does the Bible honor - silver haired. What generation does your culture honor. The devil can't stop revival so he is trying to contain it to one generation. Malachi says, "And he will turn the hearts of fathers to their children and the hearts of children to their fathers, lest I come and strike the land with a decree of utter destruction." - Malachi 4:6 

Lesson learned: 

1) the devil doesn't necessarily teach you something bad but just partially true. Stay in community. The wounds of a faithful friend. 

2) Your spirit can give you an encounter. You have a house of two spirits: a) good spirit and b) Holy spirit. The discernment challenge is "was that God or my spirit?" It gets more challenging as you become more and more like Jesus. Out of compassion you may give a "prophetic" word out of your good spirit. 

Chapter 4 - Language of God 

Vision - eyes open and you see a hologram movie

Dreams - close your eyes and imagine a purple alligator with a pink bow on it. That screen is the same one the Holy Spirit displays on. 

Typically the Holy Spirit is speaking in hyrogryphics. It's like Chinese - character language in pictures. 

Story: open vision (p. 60-61)

Two types of dreams

1) virtual reality dream - tell God if you give me dreams I will steward it. Then after s dream write it down and ask the Holy Spirit how to respond. 

2) reality dream - our body dreams but our spirit doesn't dream.

 

Genesis 20:3 - God comes to Abimelech in his dream and wants him that he is a dead man.

Matthew 2:13 - angel comes to Joseph in a dream

Not all dreams are from God. First thing to ask is "what is the origin - is this dream of God?"

The devil will tell you the truth as long as it condemns you. Don't blame everything on the devil - especially if you are stimulating bad ideas with bad movies and bad news!

If you have a bad dream, pray for protection, ask Holy Spirit for ways to intercede, until the spirit lifts. If it doesn't lift, he calls his group of 5 intercessors to pray it off. 

If it stays there after another 3+ days 

People who have recurring panick attacks have lots of faith - but, their faith is in the wrong kingdom. 

Rarely God prophesies doom to see if His people are listening and to see if he has a leader for His people. Exodus 22 God says I'm going to kill these people and make a new nation out of you. Moses, replies these are your people you led out of Egypt - what will the nations say of you if you kill your people? God changes His mind. Next God says I'm not going into promised land, instead I will send an angel. Moses says, I'd rather be in the wilderness with you than the promised land with an angel.

Trances: 

1) Kris is invited to a town devestated by a string of 5 deaths among teenagers who committed suicide in Oregon. He was asked to speak about life. A lady who sat alone in despair in the distance all three days. She joined them for the last session when Kris spoke on "Go can do anything." She challenged Chris and explained her son was one of the five that was dead. He heard the Holy Spirit say, "ask her if she wants to meet her son." He asked her and she said yes but not understanding what that meant. She fell back hard on the ground and entered a 3 hour vision. When she came out she joyfully shared how God took her to heaven and was comforted by her son that he was fine.

2) Kris was praying for people and saw a lady and knew she had 7 abortions. He spoke life over her and as he prophesied over her she explained she had 7 abortions. He asked if he would like to meet these babies. She soon went into a trance and had a vision of heaven where she met these 7 little ones who had died.

Kris explained this has happened many other times.

My story. My parents had general stores/post office in England. When I look back when I was 8 years old that's when it all began. I've never been in business and an entrepreneur but never for money. When I was 13, my father got sick. Two years later he died and I came to faith. So, at 13 I was co-running the shop with his mother. This post office also gave him opportunity to pastor to people.

I knelt on my father's dead body and gave my life to Jesus.  A couple years later I went through Evangelism Explosion training (dr James Kennedy ministry) and this is when I got the call to ministry. He asked a mentor, what should I do getting ready for ministry. Instead of bible school he said, get a job working with people. He worked for health clinics as a nurse and naturally began organizing patients and staff. He got married at 21 half way through nursing school. First baby expected in 5th year working in intensive care but it didn't pay bills so he moved into working for a brand new prison in psychiatric care. The manager was never there so he ran the wing. He was identified for leadership and they out him in an accelerated leadership program. For 19 years he ran the prison. He loves running prisons. He loves seeing changed lives. Now he loves changed nations!

Many ministry leaders never learn to manage themselves and their family. 

Few significant events:

* Working a S. London prison for terrorists in health department. He walked the perimeter and denounced the spirit of suicide. What happens in prisons is well known in parliament. He was recruited to solve the problem of 4 deaths at the Heathrow juvenile prison. He was named the strategic change consultant. Gift of administration is leading change. How do you take a rusty old prison mindset and catalyze change. 

* 1973 - 1996 he was part of a Congregational church where he preached once a year and very involved in Alpha and youth group. And everyone remembers his cooking. Toronto outpouring occurred and they attended. 

* 1995, Randy Clark visited a nearby church. 

* In1996, they moved to another church. 

* In 2001, his wife heard Redding is their home so they moved. Came as a student and after first year he traveled with Kris Vallotton and volunteered the second year. He called Chad Dedmond out of the back of the class and told him you are a leader, get to the front. Found out he was in the senior team during a presentation at Bryan's house in Nashville. 

* 2004 they left Assemblies of God. In early 2005, he was called into Bill's office to build a network to care for the people connected to Bethel. This evolved into Global Legacy. He was asked to build around these four things:

1. Wine skin - purpose: carry and pour out wine. It's all about the wine.

2. Build the structure and let God fill it. Look and see what God is doing.

3. Government of Honor - how far can we go without rules?

4. Bring Heaven to Earth - bring the order of Heaven to Earth.

Bill said before I met Paul I didn't have a value for administrative leadership, but PW does, so I do now.

Sept 2011 he finally got to go to Toronto. He is the opening night speaker for catch the fire conference. Preached on Glory. Carol Arnedt and Duncan Smith praying for him as he later down talking to God. He had one more message to preach and he had just one other message on administration. He argued then embraced the gift September 2011.

In America you have purses and in UK they have handbags. Why would he carry around his wife's purse when he has a wallet?

We need a reformation. 

Supernatural without administration will not reach its potential.

If you don't father an organization you will revert to a older brother legalism. You are either modeling a functional 

Is 9:6-7, child is born and government is on his shoulders. Direct relationship between son, father, disciple nations. Apostolic move of God is a relational move of God. 

It's always difficult to change what's above you. You can change what you are able to influence. He led strategic change seminars where employees came without their boss and it was a disaster. You can't create change without buy-in from the boss. 

Know who the people are above you, besides you and below you. Know who to call when you have a need in different categories. Administrative gifting is not a second class career. 

The desire to do a round table leadership structure is because there was an unhealthy (controlling or absent) leader in the hierarchy structure. Organizational structure needs to be built on love and not power. Bill can call him now and he will do anything because a true father has the best interest of others at heart.

Background: grew up in England. Born in South Coast of England and fortunately not many clear days or they could see France. Grew up in non-Christian background. God grabbed hold of him at 14. Then Toronto hit two months in. He spent his first year in faith on his back laughing and weeping in the spirit. Got a job in corporate banking. Volunteered as youth leader and pastor asked him into volunteer leadership at 23. Another pastor invited him into associate pastor. Worked in all aspects of church for three years. Got a prophetic word at a regional pastors meeting by a South African pastor. Went to s Africa. And multiple people their said you need to start a business. He returned to England and started a life coaching business. In the mail he got a catalog from a college that certifies people in life coaching. 

God wastes nothing to get you ready. I know now why I had that rotten job or worked for that horrible boss. Jesus was in his destiny when he was an infant, talking to rabbis in temple at 12, working with wood under his father Joseph...

Stewardship: gifts, connections, responsibilities, relationships, positions of authority and money (not just money). There's never waste in the kingdom.

Faithfulness for what God puts in front of you.  Slow down so we can live in the present and not fast track to future roles and responsibilities. The things we are called to do can ruin us if we get to our call prematurely. Moses grew up in a palace to prepare himself to lead the nation of Israel. David, known as a king of war (learned to hear God voice and kill bears as he worked as a shepherd).

The enemy wants to steal from you your self-control. We want to give them something to grow towards. There is no way to blame your child for how you behave in the same way they have no way of blaming you for their actions.

We will maintain status as an adult. We are not "childing." This is called "parenting"

How many of you have parents. You have been given a toolbag from your parents. You get in trouble by using the tools your parents gave you. Too bad we do not live in the good old days when we could "drive away folly with a rod."

You have that relative that says, "you've got to control these children." We don't have a Father who takes you to the woodshed. He's not scaring you. He is loving you and nurturing you.

Primary skills for parenting toddlers: 

Build trust and a safe place

Teach self-control (interact in such a way that values self-control)

Teach boundaries (I am human, you will learn my boundaries that show me respect)

"Fun" or "room" If they child is throwing a fit you say "no fun." They keep crying you say, "fun" or "room"? "You decide" or "I decide." Put the child in the room and say, "you can leave the room when you are ready to be fun."

Your toddler is a genius - they learn fast.

I will not participate in any disrespectful behavior.

Tips:

Ask great questions.

Have an arsenal of choices

Do not argue ... Ever. Don't engage on the power struggle.

Say... Tattoo: I know. I don't know. Probably so. That could be. Nice try, I love you. 

Hold your child accountable.

Ask child to clean up messes.

Prioritize your connection. (Like the wifi going down) disconnecting from me is worse than not having internet.

"Delani, are you tired or do you need something to do?" 

"Oh no, son, is Taylor crying because you hit him again." Why don't you sit in that chair until you can figure it out? 

You want your children to know that this family puts relationships #1. 

Loving your Teenagers on Purpose

Emphasize the connection.

Empower them to decide (some grown children don't like going home for Thanksgiving because the parents have not learned to treat grown children like a thinking, capable adults).

Build gratitude

Invite them to think ("how do you think that will go over?")

Manage permission, opportunities, and resources

You don't have control, you only have your side of the relationship.

What is the difference between a prophet and prophecy.

1 Corinthians 12 

Everyone should earnestly desire spiritual gifts

8 Therefore it says, "When he ascended on high he led a host of captives, and he gave gifts to men." 

9 (In saying, "He ascended," what does it mean but that he had also descended into the lower regions, the earth?

10 He who descended is the one who also ascended far above all the heavens, that he might fill all things.)

11 And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers,

12 to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ,

13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, - Ephesians 4:7-13

P. 41 Gift of prophecy is a gift. It's not what you are it's what you do. Everyone should pursue it. It's for everyone!

The role of apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastors and teachers is the person of Jesus given to the church. The primary job of these offices in church is to equip the saints to do the work. There are 6 ministry positions open the church. #6 is the Saints - the most important role. It's not your decision to be a prophet. God chooses His prophets. If you don't walk with God, the gift goes with you. That's how we get false prophets. The anointing can be from God or from the devil. All good gifts come from God. 

You speak as it is and it is red. You hear from God and have grace to speak a word - that color is blue. 

Prophecy is foretelling the future and forth telling the future. 

If you receive a prophet you receive a prophets reward. 

Grace has different colors:

Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, in proportion to our faith; - Romans 12:6

5 fountain drinks - cola, Sprite, root beer, Dr Pepper and grape

Each one has soda water. You determine the size of your cup. What you get is determined by the fountain you are drinking from.

But grace was given to each one of us according to the measure of Christ's gift. - Ephesians 4:7

Near the end of Jesus' ministry he stopped stunning people and spoke in parables. In response to this the disciples asked why he is speaking in parables. 

11 And he answered them, "To you it has been given to know the secrets of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given.

12 For to the one who has, more will be given, and he will have an abundance, but from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away.

13 This is why I speak to them in parables, because seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand.

14 Indeed, in their case the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled that says: "'"You will indeed hear but never understand, and you will indeed see but never perceive." 

15 For this people's heart has grown dull, and with their ears they can barely hear, and their eyes they have closed, lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears and understand with their heart and turn, and I would heal them.'

The people who were humble got more than a parable. The proud didn't get it.

God is raising up new voices in every generation. This generation it's an entire generation being raised up. Dreaming is the norm to hear Gods voice. People are being called up to the culture - the 7 spheres of influence. God is raising you up to be a voice in the culture. Jesus said, "I am sending you out like sheep among wolves." You are being sent into the culture. 

What can it look like to be a wolf - a voice in the culture? 

Some of you will be teachers, artists, film, business leaders.

To teach you something new, God may need to put you in a new career to teach you something.

If you can learn to prophecy and not speak in tongues you could be a voice for people not in Pentecostal culture. Brother of Beni Johnson asked him to prophecy over kids 10 and under. He prophesied that this child liked to hide behind stairs to be alone - this is where you hear from God. Mom finally understood her child doesn't have problems but instead is gifted by God. God, why do you want me to only prophecy to children? He said, "I want you to learn to simplify your language so everyone out if the church can understand you."

He began to monkey prophesy for people in business and he asks God why? God said he sees business as sacred.

God told him the brown fields would turn green with months of rain coming. He filed it away for later. He asked the local business leader taking him to a business gathering about when the last time the mountains were green and he said it's been 50 years. They normally get 8 inches of rain and in May they've had less than an inch. At the gathering they had a view of the brown mountains. He told them the brown mountains will become green and in the same way your businesses will be profitable. He said, "I'm going to ask God how he will bless each person." 

First person he sees a Boston red sox on the first person and raising investment from Boston to get financing in Texas. The business man said he is getting on a plane later today for Boston to meet with banks. 

Word ambassodor written over your head and he said you will be in a position to negotiate between nations. This person explains that he works for the government to negotiate water agreements between Mexico and USA. 

3 months later the pastor emails him. They had 8 inches in the next two days. Total of 24 inches of rain in three days. They invited him back and the mountains were green. This visit he met with government leaders and university presidents. These meetings would never of happened without his boldness prophesying in the context of business. 

If you learn to prophesy over children. If you learn to as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves, you will be ministering to leaders of nations. 

What is a key to being a voice to a culture? Open your mouth. If you start talking I will speak through you. 

June 1997 he heard the voice of his Father calling him "son." Start to speak to children, start to speak to business leaders, start to speak to the church to be a voice in the culture. 

He went to Klamath falls Oregon. He was with a Swiss business friend. The friend says he sees a really big saw that is big enough to cut down California redwoods. During his message at a church he calls up his friend and he shares. He asks Bob to interpret. He says the logging business is going to be replaced by an industry that is more productive. He sees the Silicon Valley connecting with Seattle and the will be the silicon west coast. He goes on to say that God would give them hydroponic technology, they would out theses hydroponic farms on plans and sent to the nations in need of disaster relief.

I see someone is going to come up with ideas for inventing desalinization. There are voices in this building right now that will think and say ridiculous things. Righteous thinking will release creative songs. Release the sounds of heaven out if Jonathan. People will say you have an indi sound but God says you have a Heavenly sound. You are not just a musician but you are producer. You had mentors you left to do what's God. A sound studio and equipment are released in Jesus name. A portable sound studio to record play and release for "sounds of the moment." Do you play guitar? You have sowed and now is a time of receiving a historical guitar - to fill sports stadiums.

David: that's a good name for you. You are like gold in the mines. Entrepreneurial ideas will come to you. The spiritual track goes before the physical track. You are going to train the nations in at risk environments. 

Jessica: night seasons will be special. Special needs children will be your ministry and grace. You are on an education track but God has you on the ministry track first. Your family has a teaching anointing and you've fought it but it's okay. You are getting a prophetic mantel and your new schedule is difficult but you will be a changer of schools and work. 

Dane: compassion and shepherding gift. Real mean cry. God is going to teach you about provision. Evangelism gift coming in you! You will stand up in a restaurant and ask for healing in restaurants. Short term missions will happen - he will provide and Kris Overstreet radicalism may help. Check is in the mail. 

Alice: healing anointing. Twice enemy has tried to take you out. God is strengthening you - thyroid and endocrine system is strengthening. Battles with your family have been fought and you will break the bad cycle in your family. Creative miracles you will see as you speak. God is breathing back on you musical inspiration and your dear diary journals will be flipped. Dear daughter will be the new journal love letters from God. A new page, a new song and a new Alice.

Danny Silk - un-punishable (the fruit of the Cross - 1 John 2:2)

When God looks at you you stand in a place of life and security. What Jesus did on the cross actually worked! Jesus Christ came to the earth as a man to solve the problem no other man could solve. The first man, Adam, miked thugs up pretty bad. Through Adam sin entered the world - separating God and man. There is no remedy for sin - you can postpone the wrath of God for this condition but there is nothing we can do about it.

Through the law we can offer blood sacrifice to push away the wrath of God. If you are a parent and you lose one of your children there is nothing you won't do to find them. God did everything to get his children back. 

Jesus lived a sinless life and is the only one who could satisfy the wrath of God towards sin. Now you and I can boldly approach the throne of grace. There is no separation. If the work of JC completely satisfied the wrath of God, then who are you to punish your own sin? 

We must confront our love affair for punishment:

The punishment of others who fail

The punishment of ourselves who fail

You better get right or you will get left. Danny had a bumper sticker that said "turn or burn!" We got baptized into the wrath of God and we were selling "fire insurance."

Parents think this illusion that we can control other beings: If I love you I justify my control. 

Toddlers learn to listen, but it's dormant until they are teenagers and their will comes back.

God is not afraid of anything. God doesn't want control of you and I. 

Jesus told his disciples that authority works differently in the kingdom. On earth leaders try to scare people into obedience. In the kingdom, we serve people into relationship.

Children learn to fear punishment. Parents learn its okay to use fear since "everybody is doing it." We use the threat of suffering to scare people away from doing what they want to do.

In church, we withhold love. We say, "go to your room!" We say, "I'm so upset I don't know how to love when I am so upset." We think in our head, "God has the same feelings." We think Jesus has a similar voice. 

Jesus video of him revealing people's sins. You are all evil, there is no hope. Thank you.

Now it's time for me to tell you what you did wrong since I saw you last. Some of us think that is "discipleship." 

The voice of the "accuser of the brethren" gets confused with the voice of the Holy Spirit. 

And no one after drinking old wine desires new, for he says, 'The old is good.'" - Luke 5:39

We confuse "the fear of the Lord" and the fear of being punished. 

We stay in our marriage because we fear judgement if we get out of it. 

We don't know how to handle freedom! We have been given the most potent force in the universe. If we think freedom means "I can do whatever I want" means we don't understand love. 

The most important responsibility we have in life is to love. 

There are two trees in the garden for a reason. God wanted us to have a choice. Running around naked with your girl is paradise. It wasn't the devil who out a poor choice in a perfect place! What parent would put a poor choice in a child's playground? 

Parents do their most to remove poor choices:

Private school

Christian school

Home school

And so, this us. Sitting here in our clothes.

We can't have love and destroy freedom. Love chases away the enemy of God: fear. Fear is what withholds love, turns us into defensive infantile crazy people. Fear and love cannot occupy the same place. It's like light and darkness. God did not say "love your enemies" and not give you the grace and power to accomplish that command. 

18 There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.

19 We love because he first loved us.

20 If anyone says, "I love God," and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen. - 1 John 4:18-20

1 My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.

2 He is the propitiation [the atoning work of the cross] for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world. - 1 John 2:1-2

The atoning work of the cross has eliminated the need to think there is a them (God) and us (humanity). Jesus said, "I didn't come here to hedge or punish you."

There is no rule that makes you love. But, if you love there are no rules. 

When my objective is to protect someone In a relationship, there are no rules. A hurt wife shouldn't list out the things needed to make her happy. The husband could the. Respond in a grumpy voice:

I love you

Here are some flowers

I got a babysitter

Let's go get pizza 

The Galatians traded a gift of grace for a list of rules. Paul in chapter 3 rebukes them. Paul says I hope them circumcised "cut themselves off." 

Paul reminds the Galatians: Two women Abraham gave birth two

A slave woman of a curse

A free woman of a promise

We shifted from a list of rules to a relationship of love. We have been released from prison. Many ex-prisoners want back in prison because they don't want the responsibility of freedom.

For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery. - Galatians 5:1

Romans 7, the self talk of Condemnation 

1 There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.

2 For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death. - Romans 8:1-2

Mary Magdalene is caught by the religious police in the act of adulterous (takes two). We brought just the one that the law doesn't protect, the one worthy of death, they through her at Jesus' feet. First without sin can throw the first rock. All leave. There is one sinless who could punish and Jesus says he will not accuse. He just says "don't do that again" (the scathing wrath of God)

We don't know the spirit that we are of if we are longing for heaven to destroy people.

Legalistic people:

But it says, "If you love me, you will keep my commandments. - John 14:15

Moses put them in a nice list for you and numbers them. 

Son is in 8th grade and says I want to go to Public High School. I want to play football! He says to Levi, "why would I be a genius to say yes." Son replies, "I will not break your heart."

If you love Jesus, it will show up in how you use your freedom. Jesus will not require you protect your relationship. Rules do not protect ones character. Rules do not cultivate love. 

Prioritizing rules creates religion

Prioritizing our relationships cultivates love.

My conformity to a set of rules does not display your character. Freedom is the best way to showcase character. 

You don't call the IRS (tax department) to say hi. Society uses s long list of rules because the golden rule is out. When love is high, there is no need for rules.

Sin is offensive

... But being offended is neither a spiritual gift nor a fruit of the Spirit.

People especially want religious leaders punished. 

How does this work if we can't use punishment?

Repentance!

What did the religious leaders want when they took you to the back room and introduce you to the "yellow pages" (laws). 

We can't protect hearts through punishment. Punishment does not rebuild love. Repentance works.

Repentance is where you take ownership for your mistakes. You clean up your mess. Then you show fruit of love.

Repentance Is a gift

Repentance Is required

Repentance Leads to restoration

Crying is not repentance

Change is repentance

10 In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

Purpose of prophecy

1 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brothers, I do not want you to be uninformed.

2 You know that when you were pagans you were led astray to mute idols, however you were led. - 1 Corinthians 12:1-2

The word "same" is the focus: (used 8 times)

3 Therefore I want you to understand that no one speaking in the Spirit of God ever says "Jesus is accursed!" and no one can say "Jesus is Lord" except in the Holy Spirit.

4 Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit;

5 and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord;

6 and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who empowers them all in everyone.

7 To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.

8 For to one is given through the Spirit the utterance of wisdom, and to another the utterance of knowledge according to the same Spirit,

9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit,

10 to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another the ability to distinguish between spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues.

11 All these are empowered by one and the same Spirit, who apportions to each one individually as he wills. - 1 Corinthians 12:3-11

Corinthians had 8 gods. If you say "Jesus is Lord" it doesn't mean they are a follower of just Jesus. Apostles met in Jerusalem and some of the Pharisees got saved. There were only hand written Bibles so most of the people in 1st century did not know the Bible. Scribes memorized the first 5 books of the Bible. People would go to to the synagogue to hear the scriptures read. Being literate is a modern phenomenon. When Paul tells Timothy be a listener of the bible. When the Samaritans got saved and tens of thousands were getting saved.... They didn't know the stories of Bible. They get saved, e Holy Spirit falls on them and they begin to speak in tongues and prophecy. The church in Corinth thought that the word of wisdom was in god, the word of knowledge another god. It's easier to believe in polytheism for them versus one Spirit working in all believers at the same time in all places in the world simultaneously! The Greeks had a hard time believing in monotheism. The Greeks had their gods fighting each other. 

Paul is saying there is on God working through 9 gifts. Kris says there are more than 9 gifts. He believes here are hundreds of gifts. 

Few things to focus on

Verse 7 - for the common good. Pursue love, and earnestly desire the spiritual gifts, especially that you may prophesy. - 1 Corinthians 14:1 

In the middle of everything you do is love. After you prophecy, people should feel kissed by God.

Can the devil know my thoughts? No. But he knows what thoughts he gives you and he knows what you say. Use your spiritual language. It edifies you. It's an edifice. It. U.K.,do up protection around you. Tongues are mysteries, a fortress, a greenhouse. 

Greater is he that prophecies. We are not all the same in the Bible. 

Pursue love, and earnestly desire the spiritual gifts, especially that you may prophesy. - 1 Corinthians 14:1 

Common theme: edify, encouragement.

2 For one who speaks in a tongue speaks not to men but to God; for no one understands him, but he utters mysteries in the Spirit.

3 On the other hand, the one who prophesies speaks to people for their upbuilding and encouragement and consolation.

4 The one who speaks in a tongue builds up himself, but the one who prophesies builds up the church.

5 Now I want you all to speak in tongues, but even more to prophesy. The one who prophesies is greater than the one who speaks in tongues, unless someone interprets, so that the church may be built up.

6 Now, brothers, if I come to you speaking in tongues, how will I benefit you unless I bring you some revelation or knowledge or prophecy or teaching? - 1 Corinthians 14:2-6

12 So with yourselves, since you are eager for manifestations of the Spirit, strive to excel in building up the church.

13 Therefore, one who speaks in a tongue should pray that he may interpret.

14 For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays but my mind is unfruitful. - 1 Corinthians 14:12-14

What then, brothers? When you come together, each one has a hymn, a lesson, a revelation, a tongue, or an interpretation. Let all things be done for building up. - 1 Corinthians 14:26

For you can all prophesy one by one, so that all may learn and all be encouraged, - 1 Corinthians 14:31

We are looking for gold, not dirt. Every prophetic person sees dirt.  If you go to a gold mine you wouldn't be special if you said, "Look, there's a rock!" it's hard to find gold, not dirt.

In Russia, there was a lady yelling at security to get into the conference. Kris says, "what a bummer that I have this affect in women." Another lady forced her way into a car and they forced her out. She was screaming 15 years ago I had a dream Kris would come to Russia!

On a plane a guy asked another person to switch seats and they guy said no and the guy grabbed the hand of his boyfriend. Kris thought, "oh my God, I'm sitting next to two homosexuals!" God said to him, "you don't mind sitting next to two heterosexuals sinning." He introduced himself and offered cashews. They started telling porn jokes and Kris says you need to read this book, "developing a healthy church." They respond I don't like church. Kris responds, "I don't either sometime but they pay me to come." Kris closes his eyes to rest and gets a vision. Kris says, "Frank, I see you on a beach and you have a painting easel and you are painting seascapes."  Tony says, "do you know that frank paints seascapes for a living." Frank is crying. Kris continues, "you are a michaelangelo and you will be in the top galleries sculpting with stone." Frank says, "we just bought a potters wheel." Kris closes his eyes and he gets a vision for Frank. He sees people. Ringing stuff to their house and he fixes everything. They get off the plane and at luggage they see each other they give Kris big hugs. 

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. - Jeremiah 29:11 Jeremiah write that in the middle of 70 years of captivity. Our job in prophecy is to give people a future and a hope.

Tongues are for unbelievers that want to stay unbelievers but prophecy is for for believing unbelievers and that leads the, to salvation.

 21 In the Law it is written, "By people of strange tongues and by the lips of foreigners will I speak to this people, and even then they will not listen to me, says the Lord."

22 Thus tongues are a sign not for believers but for unbelievers, while prophecy is a sign not for unbelievers but for believers.

23 If, therefore, the whole church comes together and all speak in tongues, and outsiders or unbelievers enter, will they not say that you are out of your minds?

24 But if all prophesy, and an unbeliever or outsider enters, he is convicted by all, he is called to account by all,

25 the secrets of his heart are disclosed, and so, falling on his face, he will worship God and declare that God is really among you. - 1 Corinthians 14:21-25

Vs 25 - for 10 years Kris thought to find people's dirt and bring them to repentance. Danny Silk taught about holy offense. Danny, told the church if their is anyone who you have offended go to them now. Kris had a line of people. After three hours Kris went home with tears and said I'll never prophecy again. The fruit of Kris' prophecy was not producing fruit of the body. Find treasure to convict them of how they have fell short of the glory they have within them!

Saul searching for donkeys. Samuel says to the city, there's a guy looking for donkeys. Saul finds Samuel and he says I am the one by whom will tell you everything that is in your heart. Aren't you the one for whom everyone is waiting for. The next morning (1 Samuel 10). Hasn't God anointed you? You will be a ruler over Gods people. There are things in your heart that your head doesn't know yet.  

2 When you depart from me today, you will meet two men by Rachel's tomb in the territory of Benjamin at Zelzah, and they will say to you, 'The donkeys that you went to seek are found, and now your father has ceased to care about the donkeys and is anxious about you, saying, "What shall I do about my son?"'

3 Then you shall go on from there farther and come to the oak of Tabor. Three men going up to God at Bethel will meet you there, one carrying three young goats, another carrying three loaves of bread, and another carrying a skin of wine.

4 And they will greet you and give you two loaves of bread, which you shall accept from their hand.

5 After that you shall come to Gibeath-elohim, where there is a garrison of the Philistines. And there, as soon as you come to the city, you will meet a group of prophets coming down from the high place with harp, tambourine, flute, and lyre before them, prophesying.

6 Then the Spirit of the LORD will rush upon you, and you will prophesy with them and be turned into another man.

7 Now when these signs meet you, do what your hand finds to do, for God is with you. 

When he turned his back to leave Samuel, God gave him another heart. And all these signs came to pass that day. 

- 1 Samuel 10:2-7, 9

Samuel gave the right word to the wrong man. Prophetic culture changes people into the people God wants them to be. Saul was changed into the man he was supposed to be. Saul failed as king because he reverted back to the old man.

If you see porn, don't give them the opposite. No, if you see a problem, ask the Holy Spirit what is the root of the problem! 

Accountability is a count for ability not your disability.

Last point: 

People ask the question, "if we keep calling out great stuff in people, won't that make them proud?" Humility means your strength is restrained. 

Daniel 4 - taken from Nebechudnezzar's journals

Dream of a tree covering the earth. An angel cuts the tree down for 7 seasons. 

7 Then the magicians, the enchanters, the Chaldeans, and the astrologers came in, and I told them the dream, but they could not make known to me its interpretation.

8 At last Daniel came in before me-he who was named Belteshazzar after the name of my god, and in whom is the spirit of the holy gods-and I told him the dream, saying,

9 "O Belteshazzar, chief of the magicians, because I know that the spirit of the holy gods is in you and that no mystery is too difficult for you, tell me the visions of my dream that I saw and their interpretation.

10 The visions of my head as I lay in bed were these: I saw, and behold, a tree in the midst of the earth, and its height was great.

11 The tree grew and became strong, and its top reached to heaven, and it was visible to the end of the whole earth.

12 Its leaves were beautiful and its fruit abundant, and in it was food for all. The beasts of the field found shade under it, and the birds of the heavens lived in its branches, and all flesh was fed from it.

13 "I saw in the visions of my head as I lay in bed, and behold, a watcher, a holy one, came down from heaven.

14 He proclaimed aloud and said thus: 'Chop down the tree and lop off its branches, strip off its leaves and scatter its fruit. Let the beasts flee from under it and the birds from its branches.

15 But leave the stump of its roots in the earth, bound with a band of iron and bronze, amid the tender grass of the field. Let him be wet with the dew of heaven. Let his portion be with the beasts in the grass of the earth.

16 Let his mind be changed from a man's, and let a beast's mind be given to him; and let seven periods of time pass over him.

17 The sentence is by the decree of the watchers, the decision by the word of the holy ones, to the end that the living may know that the Most High rules the kingdom of men and gives it to whom he will and sets over it the lowliest of men.'

18 This dream I, King Nebuchadnezzar, saw. And you, O Belteshazzar, tell me the interpretation, because all the wise men of my kingdom are not able to make known to me the interpretation, but you are able, for the spirit of the holy gods is in you."

19 Then Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, was dismayed for a while, and his thoughts alarmed him. The king answered and said, "Belteshazzar, let not the dream or the interpretation alarm you." Belteshazzar answered and said, "My lord, may the dream be for those who hate you and its interpretation for your enemies! - Daniel 4:7-19

33 Immediately the word was fulfilled against Nebuchadnezzar. He was driven from among men and ate grass like an ox, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven till his hair grew as long as eagles' feathers, and his nails were like birds' claws.

34 At the end of the days I, Nebuchadnezzar, lifted my eyes to heaven, and my reason returned to me, and I blessed the Most High, and praised and honored him who lives forever, for his dominion is an everlasting dominion, and his kingdom endures from generation to generation; 

35 all the inhabitants of the earth are accounted as nothing, and he does according to his will among the host of heaven and among the inhabitants of the earth; and none can stay his hand or say to him, "What have you done?" 

36 At the same time my reason returned to me, and for the glory of my kingdom, my majesty and splendor returned to me. My counselors and my lords sought me, and I was established in my kingdom, and still more greatness was added to me.

37 Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and extol and honor the King of heaven, for all his works are right and his ways are just; and those who walk in pride he is able to humble. - Daniel 4:33-37

What's the secret of being in the chamber of kings? Loving the kings in the midst of their sins. Daniel was 93 when he was thrown into the lions den. When Darius ran to see him in the morning, Daniel said, "oh king may you live forever!" 

Confidence always looks like arrogance to the insecure.
